Audience Code of Conduct
To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for everyone, all audience members are expected to follow this Code of Conduct while attending performances and events at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre.
Safety First
- Follow all staff instructions and posted signage.
- Keep aisles, exits, and walkways clear at all times.
- In the event of an emergency, remain calm and follow the directions of venue staff.
Respect for Performers and Patrons
- Silence all mobile devices before the performance begins.
- Refrain from talking, whispering, or using distracting devices during the performance.
- Photography, video, or audio recording is not permitted unless specifically announced.
- Applause and reactions are welcome—at appropriate moments.
Inclusive and Welcoming Environment
- Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Be kind, courteous, and respectful to staff, volunteers, performers, and fellow patrons.
Children and Families
- All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
- Children must be supervised at all times. If a child becomes disruptive, we ask that you briefly step out for the comfort of others.
Food, Drink, and Cleanliness
- Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the auditorium.
- Please dispose of trash properly and keep the venue clean.
Violation of Policy
- Individuals not complying with this Code may be asked to leave without refund. In severe cases, local authorities may be contacted.
