Fifty episodes. Five years. Countless words.

For this special milestone, we chose kairos, the ancient Greek idea of the right or opportune moment, as both our subject and our farewell (or perhaps, simply, our next beginning).

We trace its origins and famous personification as a winged youth who could only be grasped as he approached, then reflect on how kairos weaves through the words we’ve explored together: beguiled, bildungsroman, cacoethes, ghost, hullabaloo, jubilant, neology, ubiquitous, and whimsy.

More than a lesson in language, this episode is an invitation to pay attention, embrace uncertainty, and remember that the most meaningful moments are rarely perfect, they’re simply the ones we choose to enter.

Thank you for spending these words with us. Here’s to whatever comes next.
